Testimonials

Living at Gramercy Park is a rewarding lifestyle.  We have been here since its opening and have not regretted the decision to move here for one moment.

There are many advantages to living here, peace of mind is foremost.  Our security measures allow residents the opportunity to enjoy daily activities and the ability to go to bed at night without fear.  Our doors are locked 24 hours a day and we park in a secure underground garage with an additional secure entrance to the building.

Another distinct advantage of living at Gramercy is sociability.  Residents never have to be alone.  There’s always someone exercising in the exercise room, walking the halls, assembling puzzles or gathering near the fireplace to visit.  On the other hand, we have all the privacy we want by just going to our home and closing the door.

We have many special events, including weekly coffee, as well as, holiday parties, bingo and cards to name just a few.  Our outdoor patio offers a place to grill or just relax and watch the ducks and other wildlife that frequent our pond.  The area surrounding the pond is ever changing from lush green in summer to beautiful fall colors, and the lacy covered beauty of the new fallen snow in winter.

We do not have to live by the rules of a landlord as we are self-governing.  We elect a board of governors who look out for our best interests and members of our community volunteer to serve on committees that ensure the board is well informed of all our needs.

Gramercy Park Duluth is a great place to live.  It is a myriad of smiling faces and cheery greetings.  We have not missed our home for one minute since moving here.  We are located close to all the amenities offered by the malls, shopping center and restaurants literally just outside our door.  Yet we have seclusion from all of the hubbub of the surrounding activities by our unique setting.

Life is a series of decisions.  We felt the decision to select Gramercy Park Duluth as our home has been the best decision for us to enjoy a carefree life among friends.  It truly is “Our Home!”

I have been a resident of Gramercy for12 years and “It couldn’t be better”.  Coming from a large home, I found my home to be more than adequate.  I so appreciate the total floor plan with its large rooms, laundry, and useful balcony.  The Gramercy community is great and the maintenance and administration is exceptional.  I would be amiss not to mention the heated underground garage which is a luxury beyond my expectation.

We moved into Gramercy Park Cooperative in March 2000 to give up maintaining our old two-floor house.  The neighborhood had changed over the 31 years we lived there, and we were getting older.  Our new home permitted me to continue my 55-year hobby of cutting and polishing agates/stones and to pursue researching our genealogy hobby.  Here we met new friends, participated in social activities and served on committees, which helped us get acquainted with other residents.  Here it is convenient to travel without having to worry about our house, just lock and leave. Life is good!

Gramercy park has given us a fine quality of life as we grow older.  The social life here has been so good, as our children live out of town.  I have served 5 years on the Board of Directors, three as Chairperson, and 10 years as Chair of the Finance Committee.  It has been a learning experience which I have been happy to do.  We are very happy here in our cozy apartment.

My husband and I moved to Gramercy when it opened.  It was perfect for us as we spent 5 months a winter in Arizona and we could just lock the door and leave.  Now that I’ve lost my husband, I especially realize what a wonderfully supportive community this is.

Gramercy Goodies… Convenient for services, close to grocery stores, clothing, clinic, car services… all within 5 minutes away.  Gramercy is a community itself… we have special events and things we do.  Gramercy is safe.  And no snow shoveling or lawn mowing… the chores that you used to do… its great!

I moved to Gramercy Park in March of 2018.  As the youngest member, I have been made to feel so welcome.  I have made many new friends and am so glad I made the decision to move here.  The carefree, no-maintenance lifestyle is a relief after years of caring for a home and yard.  as one of only two residents still working, I have not been able to participate in many of the daily activities, but I look forward to the day when I can.  I have enjoyed sitting on my deck and relaxing and watching the wildlife in the pond.  Being able to bring my beloved cat, Misha, with me was a must!  She has been welcomed by all who have met her.  This was a big move for me and hopefully, my last!  I cannot imagine a better place to live.

Gramercy Park has been my home since 2008.  I just love it here – everyone is so nice and friendly and helpful.  My home is bright and cheerful and just right for me!  I especially find the fitness room handy – and it’s right down the hall from my apartment.  I enjoy listening to books on tape, which I order from the Library of Congress, and with the postal pick-up and delivery right in our Fireside Room, I don’t have to go outside to return-mail them!  I have never regretted my move to Gramercy for one minute!

I like that the Gramercy Room is available to all members, the housekeeping committee does a great job!  The decorating committee keeps our Community cheerful!  Also, when you enter our community we always have music on and the fireplace going in the winter, very warm and cozy.  I’m thankful for our van service and the volunteer drivers.  I enjoy our informative newsletter.

We moved to Gramercy to downsize, simplify life and help our parents who live in the area.   We also wanted to be able to go on vacation at any time by locking the door and leaving. Here at Gramercy we don’t have to worry about the weather, the furnace going out, or someone breaking into our home when we are gone.  Living here is better than we anticipated with a nicer apartment, many amenities, and very friendly people.

We recently retired and moved into Gramercy and can say without any doubts… no regrets!  Our decision to come here was based on: secure building, bright and cheery atmosphere, heated underground parking with carwash, location, individual balconies, hobby shop, being able to leave on vacation without having to worry how is going to watch the house, economically priced.  After moving in we were able to call this our home.  We have great neighbors and love the atmosphere.  You can be as social as you want or be in your home where people respect your privacy.  Like I said… no regrets!  We love it here!

After my husband passed away I found myself living in a big house with a big yard and a long driveway that had to be plowed in the winter!  I am not an “outside” person and decided I needed to be someplace where I didn’t have all that work!  I feel very safe here at Gramercytoo, and love the fact that I don’t have to worry about the yard work or keeping up the house.  It is done for you here – our building is so clean and nice.  I own a restaurant and am gone a lot but when I come home ti’s just so peaceful and quiet.  It was a good decision for me to move here!

I moved to Gramercy Park Duluth in 2015.  It was a good choice for me; I have made many new friends and enjoy the community lifestyle.  We have a nice hobby shop that is equipped with most anything you’d want or need, but even if you don’t have a project to work on, it’s a great place to enjoy fellowship with your neighbors and see what they’re working on.  The underground garage is so nice to drive into – especially in the winter when the winds are howling and the snow is blowing around.  The car wash bay is also very handy!   The deal-breaker for me choosing to move to Gramercy was the fact that I could have my French Brittany dog, Addy.  She is my constant companion and has made many friends here also!  This was a good decision – no more shoveling, lawn mowing, or maintenance, which is constant when you own a single-family dwelling.
